DenkBox is a technology company based in Böblingen, founded in 2025, that is developing a local AI solution for small and medium-sized enterprises. Its core product, the DenkBox, combines high-performance AI hardware with intuitive software—and runs state-of-the-art language models entirely within the company's own network. No cloud, no third parties, no data sharing. DenkBox was founded by Dr. Hannes Planatscher, who has firsthand experience with the tension between AI-driven productivity and data privacy—and set out to resolve it. DenkBox is part of Cyber Valley Tübingen, Europe's leading center for AI research and advanced robotics. The team brings together expertise in AI research, computational linguistics, software development, as well as sales and marketing. The DenkBox provides companies with cutting-edge AI applications—including an intelligent chat, email and calendar integration, automations, and a company-specific knowledge system (RAG)—without compromising on data protection. The hardware is based on the AMD Ryzen™ AI Max+ 395 with 128 GB shared memory and up to 50 TOPS AI performance, and is delivered preconfigured for specific industries. At the customer site, the DenkBox simply needs to be connected to the company network. Instead of monthly subscription fees, customers purchase the DenkBox as a one-time investment—including lifetime security updates. DenkBox turns AI from an IT experiment into a practical tool that enables companies to work faster, leverage knowledge more effectively, and maintain full control.
